My name is August Parish, a Dublin-based multidisciplinary artist, working under the name lunasa.irl, which is my name in Irish. I am about to graduate from NCAD with a degree in Textile Art and Artefact and I recently showcased in Dublin Independent Fashion week and Ireland Fashion Week. Subversive knitwear is my main bread and butter, but I often get frustrated doing the same thing, so my practice tends to spill across fashion, textiles, photography and whatever else feels right on the day.

I love creating garments that transform a person into a character and invite them into a world created specifically for that collection. I’m very drawn to the dramatic, performance side of fashion and I enjoy being a part of each step of the life cycle of a fashion collection, from concept building, creating the garments right up to styling and capturing the final photoshoot.

god loves a chancer (2026)

‘God Loves a Chancer’ follows an imagined story about a girl determined to compete in the feis, despite being disqualified each time as her garments fail to meet regulation. Rather than conforming, she doubles down, choosing spectacle, identity and fashion over function.

The collection plays with the tension between tradition and self-expression, reimagining familiar Irish dance silhouettes through knitwear, crinoline structures, rhinestoned and airbrushed Celtic symbols. Fortune favours the bold, but fashion favours the chancer. It’s a lighthearted celebration of dressing for yourself, even when the occasion says you shouldn’t.
