ESDi School of Design

Sabadell, Spain

ESDi (Escola Superior de Disseny) is a design school in Sabadell, near Barcelona, and one of the schools of Ramon Llull University. Fashion Design is one of the specialisations of its official design degree.

About the school

ESDi grew out of the Textile Design Foundation (FUNDIT), set up in 1989 by a group of Sabadell textile manufacturers who wanted designers trained for their industry. The school began with textile design and became associated with Ramon Llull University in 1992.

It was one of the first schools to offer Spain’s Official Undergraduate Degree in Design, from 2008, with specialisations in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, Interior Design and Audiovisual Design.

Campus

The school occupies the former Docks de Sabadell, a large warehouse once used to store raw wool, remodelled in 1991 by architect Ignasi Veciana. The main building covers about 9,000 square metres over four floors.
