Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME)
Editor’s pick
MOME is a public art and design university in Budapest, named after the artist László Moholy-Nagy. Fashion is taught through its textile and fashion design programmes.
About the school
Its predecessor, the Hungarian Royal National School of Arts and Crafts, was founded in 1880. The university was known as the Hungarian University of Arts and Design until 2006, when it took its present name.
Fashion
MOME offers a six-semester BA in Textile Design, which includes a garment and accessory design specialisation, and an MA in Fashion and Textile Design. MOME says its textile design programme and its predecessor have trained designers for nearly 110 years.
Each year the MOME Fashion Show presents work by graduating fashion and textile design students. The university has also partnered with the Hungarian label Nanushka on a Conscious Textile Group.
