The Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) is a public design institution in Lahore. It was Pakistan’s first institution dedicated to fashion design education.
About the school
It was established in 1994 as the Pakistan School of Fashion Design by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, to meet a shortage of trained professionals as the country’s textile industry grew. In 2011 the government set out to grant it a degree-awarding charter recognised by the Higher Education Commission.
PIFD has more than 1,000 students and is a member of the Cumulus Association.
